At the close of a meeting held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, the Board resolved that its recommendation is intended to establish whether allegations of financial and administrative malpractices at the Agency are true or not. According to a release, members of the Board have met twice with the Executive Director of the Disaster Management Agency at which time they examined documentary evidence based on the allegations of irregularities which were reported recently. An Internal Affairs Ministry press release said Mr. Frangieh made the disclosure Tuesday when he gave an overview of the purpose of their visit to Liberia at a meeting with Internal Affairs Minister Honorable Varney A. Sirleaf and team at the capitol offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). The delegation to MIA was headed by Mr. Hamad Mohamed Al-Rumaihi, Minister Plani and head of the Central and West African Countries Section of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. GVL Management says the obstructions have cost them thousands of dollars in loss. Monrovia, July 1, 2019: The Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Council of Chiefs have endorsed a resolution by traditional leaders calling for a one year suspension of all traditional schools, especially the Sande groves in Liberia. At the end of a consultative meeting among traditional leaders held in Gompa, Nimba County, June 24th - 25th, 2019, the participants resolved a temporary suspension of all Sande society practices and activities in order to address some aspects of the SANDE society (Traditional Women Bush School), often considered by Human Rights Organizations and some of international partners as ‘’harmful tradition’’ in Liberia.
