Monrovia, February 9, 2016: The new Minister of Internal Affairs, Dr. Henrique F. Tokpah has promised to improve the internal efficiency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Dr. Tokpah said this effort effort will include functional operations of the central and local governance.
“Additionally, I will work with the local government structure to include Superintendents, Commissioners, Chiefs and Elders as to how we at Central can help them better serve the people of Liberia”. He said
The former Cuttington University President meanwhile called on staff of the Ministry to work harder in order to achieve the goals of the Ministry.
“AndI will expect that you work with me in continuing your good work here at the Ministry. I will expect your fullest cooperation and support in helping me accomplish the task for which I am here”. He emphasized.
Dr. Tokpah was speaking Monday when he formally took over as Minister of Internal Affairs.
The ceremony took place at the Ministry’s compound on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.
At the same time, Dr. has called on local government officers to be involved in maintaining the peace as UNMIL draws down its military force from Liberia.
The new Minister also promised to work with Legislature in the discharge of his duties noting thathe will also seek guidance from the President on a regular basis.
