President George Manneh Weah makes donation to Muslims nationwide as Ramadan expected to end

As Muslims are expected to end the month of Ramadan, President George Manneh Weah has made donation nationwide of food and cash.

On Wednesday, the Liberian leader donated three thousand (3,000) bags of 25Kg rice and three million Liberian Dollars (LD$3,000,000.00) to Muslims which will be distributed proportionally in the 15 Counties.

Making the donation on behalf of President Weah, Internal Affairs Minister, Honorable Varney A. Sirleaf said the President's donation was his way ofidentifying with the Muslim Community as they end the annual month-long Prayer.

The presentation was made at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the presence of the 15 County Superintendents, who are charged with the responsibility to distribute the rice and cash among Muslims in the Counties.

Minister Sirleaf called on the Superintendents to quickly distribute the donation to Muslims in the counties to ensure it is used during the celebrations.

Responding, Honorable Janjay Baikpeh, Superintendent of Grand Bassa County and Chairperson of the National Superintendents Council thanked President Weah for the gesture, with a promise to expeditiously carryout the distribution.

A team from the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs will work closely with the Superintendents to ensure the distribution is carried out.
