Monrovia: On Friday, September 25th staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs dedicated their time at the office to a cleanup exercise that gave the environment a facelift.

The employees, in respective of position and gender took up shovels, cutlasses, wheelbarrows, blooms, personal protective equipment and other working materials to brush, sweep and clean waterways etc.

The Ministry’s senior management team largely sponsored the exercise with individual contributions and joined the cleaning effort themselves.

Minister Varney Sirleaf also inspected the work and thanked the team for undertaking what he called a family styled initiative.

He motivated the working team to do more regularly, promising that he and his Deputy and Assistant Ministers stand ready to collective support the staff.

He also made additional financial contributions as part of his motivation.

The Minister praised Deputy Minister for Urban Affairs Honorable Paulita C.C. Wie for leading the effort, along with Acting Deputy Minister for Operations Edward Fineboy.
