Welthungerhilfe Liberia Commissions Five New Health Facilities in Southeast Liberia

Welthungerhilfe Liberia has officially commissioned five health facilities: Bargblor PHC, Jaytoken PHC, Kwitatuzon PHC, and Rally Time Hospital. The ceremonial event was symbolically held at Rally Town Hospital, marking a pivotal moment for health services in the region.

These newly commissioned facilities are part of a broader initiative that includes the construction of eight health facilities, funded by the German Government through the German Development Bank. This project is executed in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Public Works, and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

Deputy Minister for Operations, Minister Selena P. Mappy, addressed attendees, expressing deep gratitude on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the President of Liberia. She emphasized the crucial role of local communities in the successful maintenance of these facilities, underscoring the importance of community involvement in healthcare.

Minister Mappy also noted that nine health facilities in Bucha serve various communities across the southeastern counties, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring that essential health services reach even the most remote areas of the country.

This initiative not only enhances healthcare infrastructure but also signifies a collaborative effort between the government and international partners to improve the health and well-being of Liberians in underserved regions.
