
The ‘Cater Center’ praises JCCEM, says it gives hope to Liberia and Cote d l’voire.
A partner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, The Carter Center says the just ended Joint Council of Chiefs and Elders Meeting in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh gives hope to both Liberian and Ivoian bordering communities.
The Deputy Chief of Party the Carter Center Pewee S. Flomoku said the outcome of the meeting provides a platform for increased dialogue among chiefs and elders as well as governmnets of both countries.
He maintained that his assessment has shown a great optimism in the communites about the committement that neither side of the boder will never reverte to armed conflict.
Mr. Flomoku, has on behalf of the Carter Center lauded the two countries for encouraging what he refered to as a historic effort.
The Carter Center is credited for collaborating with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, especially in the area of technical support for chiefs and elders during the JCCEM.
