Internal Affairs launches Personnel re-documentation exercise

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched the re-documentation of its personnel. At a briefing ceremony on Thursday, Internal Affairs Minister Blamoh Nelson says the exercise in intended to modernize the workforce of the ministry.


He said when completed, the excise will ensure establishment of a merit-based personnel management system.


Minister Nelson noted that the system will provide necessary information on personnel qualification, need for capacity building and maximize productivity.
He clarify that the computerized system is in no way intended to witch-hunt any one, but to rationalize the payroll system which will ensure just compensation and benefits to employees.


The Internal Affairs Boss said under the system, employees will be numbered to guide against favoritism and nepotism.


Also speaking, Deputy Minister for Administration Varney Sirleaf said the process will cover all Internal Affairs Ministry employees including those at the county level and members of the National Traditional Council.


Hon. Sirleaf said the excise which begins immediately is part of the Ministry’s 150-days deliverables.


He has meanwhile called on employees to cooperate with the re-documentation team to ensure smooth operations. Picture below:
