JCCEM significant to West African Sub-region, former Land & ad Minister declares
A former Minister of Lands, Mines and Energy has recommended to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the extension of the JCCEM to other countries in the West African sub-region.
Dr. Roosevelt JayJay said it will be a good thing for the Ministry to lead the process involving other countries in West Africa, especially those bordering Liberia, where chiefs and elders will meet and discuss key issues relevant to peace, reconciliation, unity and development of the region.
Dr. Jayjay, who is also Associate Vice President of the Cuttington University Graduate School, based in Monrovia asserted that regular meeting of chiefs and elders of the region will promote dialogue and information exchanges among the people.
The former minister was speaking Friday, October 18, when he served as one of the moderators at the Joint Council of Chiefs and Elders Meeting, convened by Liberia and La Cote d l’voire in Zwedru City, Grand Gedeh County.
He called on the delegates attending to meeting to work together and live together, regardless of which side of the border they reside.
