MIA Conducts Validation of Decentralization Plan Nation-wide
The Ministry of Internal Affairs will this week commence a series of validation workshops on the National Decentralization Implementation Plan (NDIP) covering all fifteen counties of Liberia.
The validation workshops are in preparation of the roadmap for the full roll out of decentralized governance in the country.
More than six teams of inter-agency personnel including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Governance Commission, and the Civil Service Agency, among others, will conduct the validation workshops.
Participants of the workshops are being drawn from line Ministries and Agencies, women and youth representatives, as well as civil society actors, based in the counties.
The validation of the National Decentralization Implementation Plan is an important step in the chain of activities that will see eventual implementation within the first five years of the program in Liberia.
The NDIP, among other things, contains key activities including communication and information dissemination, establishment of a Legal and Regulatory Framework and gradual de-concentration of the Ministries and Agencies throughout the country.
