
MIA’s Administrative Retreat for Superintendents opens in Robertsport
A three-day Administrative Retreat for County Superintendents has opened in the Western Liberian city of Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County.
The first Fiscal Year 2012-2013 Administrative Retreat, organized by the Ministry of the Internal Affairs is intended to provide an opportunity for the MIA
Management Team to familiarize itself with major policies and programs of Government which require direct involvement and coordination of the Ministry.
At the opening, Internal Affairs Minister Hon. Blamoh Nelson said the retreat will also highlight a number of administrative protocols and procedures necessary for the smooth execution of the various tasks ahead.
Discussions are focused on major programs of government including; Decentralization and Local Governance, Peace Building, Healing and reconciliation, Rural and Urban Development, and guidelines for management of County Social Development Funds.
Participants will discuss, for the next three days, project implementation, challenges and prospects, role of Internal Audits and full compliance with the legal framework of the Public Procurement and Concession Commissions (PPCC) Act, amongst others.
All superintendents and Assistant Superintendents for Development, of the 15 counties, are in attendance.
