Minister Dukuly embraces National Culture Union, describes the art as key..
Internal Affairs Minister Morris Dukuly has paid tribute to Cultural performers and dancers, describing them as a key channel in the dissemination of major policies and programs.
He says traditional songs of the performers do not require any interpretation because they speak to the minds of people, regardless of one’s education or ethnicity because the message is transmitted in the simplest form.
He said cultural performance is an art which re-enforces the culture and way of life of Liberians.
Minister Dukuly spoke Thursday, when he met with the National Culture Union at his office on Capitol Hill.
He promised to work collaboratively with the Culture Union in the dissemination of messages of peace and the engagement process at all levels of the society.
He said the Union will be helpful in creating awareness and sensitization of the implementation of the Decentralization Program, the Roadmap on Peace building, and the National Identification Registry (National ID Card) amongst others, led by the Ministry.
For his part, the head of the National Culture Union, Mr. KekurahKamara thanked Minister Dukuly for the reception, and praised him for his deep appreciation, love and respect for the culture of the land.
He expressed hope that under the Dukuly Administration, the Ministry of internal Affairs will encourage all stakeholders, including the National Culture Union, to accelerate the process of modernization of the performing art in Liberia.
