Ministry of Internal Affairs Procures Vehicles for County Superintendents

Monrovia, Liberia - The Ministry of Internal Affairs is pleased to announce the successful procurement of 15 Toyota Hilux double cabin pickups, designated for the 15 county superintendents. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing the operational capacity of our front-line officials, who play a crucial role in implementing the government’s decentralization agenda.

In the fiscal budget approved for 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs was allocated funds aimed at improving the mobility and effectiveness of our county superintendents. Despite previous challenges in accessing these resources, we are proud to report that the procurement process has been completed, ensuring that our superintendents are equipped with the necessary tools to serve their county effectively.

During the presentation ceremony, the keys to the vehicles were handed over to the Honorable Director General of the General Services Agency, Hon. GALAKPAI W. KORTIMAI, who will oversee the distribution of the vehicles to the respective county superintendents. Honorable Sylvester Gribgsby,  who proxy on behalf of the President, expresses the president's commitment to supporting decentralization and empowering local governance.

The Ministry recognizes the vital role that county superintendents play as the “foot soldiers” of our administration. By prioritizing their needs, we are ensuring that they can carry out their duties more efficiently, ultimately benefiting the citizens they serve.

“This achievement is not just about providing vehicles; it is about recognizing the hard work and dedication of our county superintendents,” said Francis S. Nyumalin Sr, Minister of Internal Affairs. “For the past six years, many of these officials have lacked the necessary resources to perform their jobs effectively. Today, we take a significant step forward in addressing that gap.”

The Ministry of Internal Affairs remains committed to the ongoing development of our internal structures and the enhancement of service delivery at all levels of government.
