No Demonstrations: Gedeh’s Youth dismiss rumor of demonstration

Loud cheers and hand clapping roared throughout the Grand Gedeh Youth Center Tuesday when the group’s President threw the full weight of the county’s youths behind the ongoing Peace and reconciliation Meeting between the Chiefs and Elders of Liberia and La Cote d’Voire.

 

“The rumors you hear about demonstrations are all Monrovia rumors. Here in Grand Gedeh County, the citizens and particularly the youth do not approve of any   plan for any demonstration. We support the JCCEM efforts to restore peace and reconciliation,” Alex Barleh, President of the Grand Gedeh Yout Association told Internal Affairs Minister Morris Dukuly and a host of county officials Tuesday.

 

He said whisper of rumors of a purported demonstration coming from Monrovia during the JCCEM were completely false and misleading.

 

Grand Gedeh Senator Isaac Nyenebo, according to report, said he was constrained to dismiss one of his office staffer who took to the airwaves Monday in Monrovia “spreading rumors that Grand Gedeh youths were preparing for a series of demonstration against the JCCEM in Grand Gedeh County.
