NRF Donates Road Maintenance Tools to Ministry of Internal Affairs for Maryland County
Harper City, Maryland County: The National Road Fund (NRF) has donated several road maintenance tools and equipment to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in support of the Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) Program, which focuses on road maintenance and roadside brushing activities across Liberia.
Making the presentation on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mr. Orondo F. Armah, Assistant Minister for Technical Services, turned over the items to Mr. Henry Cole, Superintendent of Maryland County.
The donation aims to empower community-based organizations to effectively carry out routine maintenance and ensure the sustainability of feeder roads and community access routes in the county.
Mr. Armah emphasized that the initiative forms part of the government’s ongoing effort to decentralize road maintenance activities and encourage local ownership. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working with local authorities and community groups to maintain Liberia’s road network.
Receiving the items, Superintendent Cole expressed gratitude to the National Road Fund and the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the continued support. He assured that the donated tools would be properly utilized to improve road connectivity within the county.
The Community-Based Organizations Program is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Road Fund to promote community participation in road upkeep across Liberia’s 15 counties.
