Minister of Internal Affairs Launches Eye Screening Program in Lofa County

Yesterday, the Honorable F. Sakila Nyumalin, Sr., Minister of Internal Affairs, proudly launched an Eye Screening Program in Foya, Lofa County, organized by the Interdenominational Christian Mission Africa, Inc. (ICM). This initiative aims to provide essential eye care services to our citizens, particularly those in vulnerable communities, as part of the government’s commitment to enhancing public health.

Minister Nyumalin expressed his gratitude to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for prioritizing the health and welfare of our people. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of ICM and its partners, including the Great Faith Vision of the USA and the New Sight Eye Center, in combating vision impairment and reducing the financial burden on citizens seeking eye care.

“The eye is one of the most important organs of the human body,” he stated, emphasizing the significance of early screenings to prevent vision loss. The program aims to detect eye problems early, ensuring timely treatment and promoting overall health.

Minister Nyumalin encouraged the citizens to take advantage of this invaluable opportunity, urging them to seize the moment for their health and well-being.
